The Children's Author Atlas

You're here because you're ready to bring your story to life.

Hi, I'm Kristin Pierce.

When I jumped into my authoring journey with an assisted self-publisher, I never had a clue what was coming next.

Self-publishing didn't come with a roadmap.

There was no blueprint of how this process worked, how to best prepare, or how to expedite the process. I was constantly flying blind until I was thrown into the next stage, which proved to be inefficient, stressful, and wildly frustrating.

Determined to create a different experience of self-publishing, I learned all I could and set off on my own to self-publish my next children's books.

In meeting many aspiring authors along the way who were full of questions, I knew it was time to share my learnings, techniques, and my understanding of self-publishing to empower those who had a message to share, too.

As an educator, I empower aspiring authors, like you, by demystifying the self-publishing process, giving you a clear road map, and teaching my strategies, systems, and learned experiences, along the way.

The Author Atlas is the self-publishing roadmap that you've been looking for that will not only show you the ins and outs of self-publishing, but will also help you learn how to do it well.

Since I self-published my first children's book in March of 2018, there have always been people reaching out with questions about publishing:

"I have a book that I want to publish. Can you help me?"

"I've always wanted to become an author. Where should I begin?"

"How did you get your book printed?"

"Where did you find your illustrators?"

"How do you sell your books online?"

Honestly, I think this is amazing!

If you have a dream to do something, I whole-heartedly believe you to saddle up and go for it! Asking for help is a great way to start your research. However, there is so much more to it than having someone answer a few of your 10,000 questions.

Self-publishing is not a fast-track to becoming an author. If you want to become a successful author, self-publishing (like anything else) requires time, learning, resources, outsourcing, high standards, a vision, and so much more.

With all of these questions constantly flooding my inbox, I knew there were a lot of people who wanted to publish a book but didn't know where to begin.

For most people who are wanting to embark on something new, diving into uncharted territory can be quite overwhelming. I know it sure was for me, which was why I enlisted the help of an assisted self-publisher for my first two books. However, once I got started, I never had a clue what was coming next. The company I worked with plopped me into each stage without a moment's notice, which was confusing, overwhelming, and annoying.

Why didn't this self-publishing journey come with a roadmap? I wondered.

There was no blueprint of how the process worked, how to best prepare, or how to expedite the process. I was constantly flying blind until she was thrown into the next stage, which proved to be inefficient, stressful, expensive, and wildly frustrating.

One day it dawned on me... I need to create a self-publishing roadmap to take the guesswork out of this process! In turn, this course had the potential to spare others from experiencing the same gruelling problems that I had trudged through.

Just like that, an idea was born.

My vision for The Author Atlas is to take the confusion out of the self-publishing process--saving you wasted time, unnecessary frustration, paralyzing overwhelm, and the costs of repeatedly hiring an assisted self-publisher who leaves you in the dark.

I want to educate, inspire, and empower aspiring authors to take their self-publishing journey into their own hands. To do so, I am using my own experience to lead others through the adventure of self-publishing with confidence, inner clarity, aligned direction, and a clear roadmap.
